GetSafe is easy to set up and has a great price. Various packages offer a range of equipment options to fit any needs, saving money and getting you the most bank for your buck. Set up is quick and easy and can be done by anyone! At a $24.99 monthly fee and a variety of packages for equipment, GetSafe is an affordable and easy system.

GetSafe has the option for wearables, or not! Devices can be placed in key locations to remove the requirement for a wearable. All packages are the same monthly cost, which is a great feature.

We Love!

  • Same low monthly fee for every package and home size
  • Easy and well stacked equipment kits
  • Uses cellular service so no need for internet or a landline!
  • $5 monthly warranty covers batteries, loss, or damage to the unit

We Don’t Love…

  • For larger homes, startup costs go up
  • Uses cellular service, which won’t work for very rural areas with poor cell service
  • The base unit must be returned if you decide not to continue the service, or they charge $299.

Pricing and Costs

GetSafe has one of the best prices in the medical alert market. With a range of $79 for 0-1 rooms, up to $229 for 4-5 bedrooms. GetSafe’s Starter package is only $79 and includes one base station, one voice activated wall button, and a wearable pendant. An additional pendant is only $10, and an additional Voice Activated Wall Button is $75 – a great price for a voice activated system! $35 will get you an additional standard Wall Button. This package is geared for 0 – 1 bedrooms.

GetSafe’s Standard package’s cost is $149 and includes the base station, two voice activated Wall Buttons, one Wall Button, and a pendant! This is the best value for the options! Two voice activated Wall Buttons sold separately are $75 each, so this package really is a neat little bundle. The Standard package works well for 2 – 3 bedrooms.

If you’re looking for something for 4 – 5 bedrooms, the Select package is $229 and includes quite a few pieces of equipment. Of course it comes with the one base unit, two standard Wall Buttons, three voice activated Wall Buttons, and one pendant. Again, considering each voice activated Wall Button is $75 on its own, this kit comes with three and is less than the cost of three individually. The extra two wall buttons with the base unit and pendant make it a great option for either a large home, or for those who want an option in many rooms such as the bathroom, bedroom, stairwell, hallway, kitchen, and living room. There is an option for every room. Additional units can be added on for those who spend time in craft rooms, the garage, the dining room, etc. A Wall Button add-on is only $35 and brings peace of mind to those extra spaces that people may be in, especially for those who choose not to wear a pendant at all times.

Again, each kit or package has the same low monthly cost of $24.95, which is a great price whether you have a starter kit with one Wall Button or a large system with 12 add ons.

Here is a quick grid to show the equipment included in each package:

GetSafe’s three package options all include the Base Unit, Pendant, and at least one Voice Activated Wall Unit. Standard Wall Buttons and additional Voice Activated Wall Buttons are added to subsequent packages to make it easy to fit any size home. These additions make it super easy to add on to your original order.

After you get started and purchase your package, you can easily log in to your account and place an order for additional add ons. This works well if, for instance, you need more voice activated wall buttons, and not necessarily any standard buttons. You can add on later if you decide you need something more.

Handy add ons also include:

  • Lockbox for emergency personal to be able to easily enter the home
  • Pendant with or without fall detection monitoring (for $10 a month)
  • Smoke detector
  • Vial of Life

Equipment Details

Pendant

GetSafe also calls their pendant a Personal Help Button. The pendant can be worn for ease of use, but GetSafe also offers Fall Detection Monitoring for only $10 a month.

Voice Activated Wall Button

GetSafe’s Voice Activated button solves a lot of problems. You can pull the cable, press the button, or simply say, “Call 911 call 911.” Saying the phrase twice activates the voice activation feature. This button is both wireless and waterproof and can be placed anywhere. Additional Voice Activated Buttons are $75, but in all three packages, at least one is included and this is a great feature for a well rounded packaging plan for equipment.

Wall Buttons

GetSafe’s wall buttons offer an easy alert for someone either not wearing the pendant, or who chooses not to wear them. Wall Buttons are a great option for added range and usability. Some ideas the company’s website offers is at the base of the stairs, or in the bathroom. These are two of the most likely places they might be needed, and having it low to the ground allows an easy push of the button to get help. It is even waterproof so that you could put it in or near a shower! The button is recessed to avoid accidentally bumping into the button itself.

Customer Service and Support

GetSafe has a live chat service on their website that has great service. We asked a hundred questions about this system before trying it, and they were great at answering every question we needed and even offered to give us a call by phone to make the explanations easier. They have a toll free number to call, and you can read relevant information in the FAQs and their online Blog. The FAQs on their site addressed that they no longer offer security services and products, and unfortunately didn’t have other questions addressed there. Their live chat more than made up for it though, with their prompt answers and easy to understand explanations for everything we needed to know.

Emergency Response

But the real heroes are on the customer service team that makes up GetSafe’s emergency response crew. They immediately respond and ensure that any and all needs are quickly and efficiently met. It’s crucial to have a professional team handling an emergency and GetSafe ensures you have just that. They’ll get the right help right to you as quickly as possible.

Bottom Line

GetSafe’s system isn’t the cheapest on the market, but the package deals are refreshingly complete, offering the pieces of equipment you will be most likely interested in even in their smallest package. The monthly fee of $24.99 is a great price and the equipment cost isn’t insurmountable. Other companies charge similar fees, similar add on features both one time and monthly, and similar packages, but GetSafe’s is the best value for the cost that also includes a pretty good monthly rate.

Our favorite part of GetSafe’s system is that it was really easy to quickly select what I needed. Upon choosing how many rooms I needed, I could choose the add ons that work for me. Once I received the system I realized I would like a couple more pieces in a few other rooms like the pantry (which is downstairs), and the back door. Typically in our case, Mom comes in the back door and places her things in the mud room. That room gets wet and slippery, and when I first placed my order, it didn’t occur to me to put a button or a device in that room. Now there’s one right near the door which would be easy to reach if she were to ever slip in there.

FAQs – Here are the questions I had

Tell me about the 4G LTE Base Unit

I won’t lie. I had to ask my husband what this meant. It means that you don’t have to use wireless internet (or wired for that matter), a landline, or anything else to connect your system. It connects easily to a cell service just like a cell phone does. This makes this unit particularly mobile, however, if cell service isn’t great at the home, this system could be problematic. That being said, cell service is pretty consistent and you won’t have outages like you might with an internet based system. You also don’t have to have a landline in the house for this to work. There is no additional cost for the system using cellular service. It would be just like using your cellphone out of the home. A similar technology is in use here.

Are the equipment pieces waterproof? Can I use them in the bathroom?

Yes, the wall buttons (both the standard and the voice activated) are waterproof. I also found out the pendant is as well. This was a great find when I thought about how Mom could use this in the pool.

How does fall protection work? Do I need that?

These sensors can tell if there’s a sudden shift in direction. For instance if it falls, gets crushed, or gets thrown. These actions resemble a fall and would get attention. In a pinch, these pendants could really help, especially if the fall caused damage rendering the person unconscious. $10 a month is worth that peace of mine.

Can I add on later or are add ons only allowed during my first purchase?

You can add on anything to your kit as you see fit. As I mentioned, we got an extra wall button in the mud room since I realized that room can be slippery.

What happens if I decide to end service?

GetSafe requires that you return just the base unit if you aren’t using it anymore. Stay on top of getting that back to them because they will charge a $299 fee if they don’t get it back.

The Final Say

GetSafe has some good equipment packages for your money. The plans enable you to customize the equipment for your needs and what is a pretty affordable cost over all. The Voice Activated Wall Button being included in all packages is a really great deal and makes this one of our favorite medical alert systems.

A big shout out to the Customer Service team who was so great in helping me get all the answers I needed.

The equipment is exactly what we will need! Their offerings were thorough but simple. I would much rather a beautiful pendant that they do offer, but since it doesn’t offer two way communication or fall detection, we will stick with the base pendant that they offer. If you don’t need those extra features though, I really did like their Vanity Pendant.
